| At first glance, a QR code looks like some sort of abstract art.

The black and white squiggly lines may not look like the next big thing in marketing and advertising...
however for Estate Agents they should be over looked at your peril.
Traditional Adertising
For ever and a day Estate Agents have used For Sale Boards, Window cards and local newspaper advertising to sell or let their properties. Then came along the internet and more importantly ‘Rightmove’.
When ever you now undertake a property valuation it is more or less guaranteed that you will say to the prospective Vendor or Landlord that the vast majority of property searching is now undertaken on the internet. Why? because we can all provide more information including video, floor plans and as many photographs as we want per property for a potential buyer or tenant to view.
So where does this leave the For Sale Board, window cards and press advertising…
The For Sale board is still used as it not only promotes the property, but also your business. The newspaper is still used once again to promote your business and helps win new listings. Even the office window, if we are really honest is used to promote your business and to let the vendor know that 'everything' possible is being done to sell their property.
However all of the above costs money and does not provide the same engagement as the web. So how can your advertising spend be made to work harder to grow your business.
QR Codes
This where QR codes enter the frame.
Imagine typical scene every Thursday night.
The local newspaper with your full page advert (£200+ investment in marketing) is being read by a prospective buyer or vendor. Currently they possibly have twenty front images of properties and a bit of text to inspire their next decision!
However the advert is easily forgotten and the paper will get thrown away very soon as well. The reader is highly likely to do nothing.
If only the reader could see all the information that is available on your web site. This extra engagement might encourage them to book a viewing or decide to call you out for a valuation.
Scan the QR code
If your page had a QR code included in the newspaper advert, then the 'if only' would become reality. The prospective buyer or vendor would be able to connect to the rich content available on the internet, book a viewing or email for a valuation.
The reader will simply scan the QR code with their mobile phone, this would then immediately connect through a ’URL’ link to a mobile web page with all the properties listed, including photographs, floor plans and videos; as well as vital information about your business.
Not only is information now in the palm of a buyers or vendors hand, they can just click a button which will immediately call your office, email you with their contact details or forward them to your Facebook page!
All this with just one ‘Black and White squiggly’ QR Code.
The same code can also be used on the For Sale board, window cards, property details in fact any print advertising.
It really is time to get a better return on your Newspaper, Leaflet, For Sale Board, Property details and office advertising.
