Today business success is not just about getting more customers, but equally important is how you retain them. Until very recently having a Website and a Facebook page would mean you were at the leading edge of engaging with your customers.

Now with the explosion of social media, smartphones and tablet PC, completely new routes to communicating with customers are available to businesses large and small. How well a business uses social media and takes advantage of the latest technology developments could mean the difference between building strong customer loyalty (and profits) or allowing your competitor to take your business!

 standard vs mobile website blog

Your current PC website is optimised to fit on large screen, while a mobile optimised website considers the much smaller screen size of your mobile phone.

This means mobile websites are lighter, quicker, and more precise allowing your clients to gain the data they require speedily, with minimum scrolling and clicking.

Delivering a high quality consumer experience.

Here are some of the common numbers around customer loyalty.

»It costs three times a much to acquire a new costumer as it does to retain one.

»It is five* times more profitable to spend your marketing on existing customers than new ones

»By regaining 5%* of your lost customers profits can increase between 30% and 80%

Building a growing customer loyalty base is one of the most important elements of  any businesses marketing tactics, however, many business owners miss this vital element out of their strategy. If you look at the ‘life time value of the customer’ it makes sense to grow sales through your existing customers rather than constantly spending limited marketing spends on trying to win new ones.

How does it work?

QR codes, or Quick-Response codes, are 2-D barcodes that can be used to increase the interaction with your brand or company. Created by Toyota subsidiary Denso Wave in 1994 to track vehicles during the manufacturing process, the code is scanned using an App on the smartphone (e.g. Neo Reader) and the smartphone’s camera.  The QR code can hold a URL which will link directly to a mobile web site.

QR code marketing is the next biggest thing in marketing and is now used by many of our most popular companies including Marks and Spencer, BP and Weight Watchers!

If you aren’t harnessing the power of QR code marketing, you could be missing new business leads and sales every month.

Create the content first.

It is the common trait of a poor QR code execution, lackluster content.   Often the result of pushing the medium before the message, it not only ruins your campaign, but every other QR code the consumer may come in contact with.  Create the compelling content first, then, ask yourself two questions.  1) Would this content be logically accessed by a mobile phone?  2) Is the content too complex to be accessed by a simple URL?

QR obviously stands for Quick Response. However many Estate Agents are putting QR codes on their window cards, For Sale boards and brochures without actually thinking about what experience the client who has scanned the code will actually receive.
